The conference aimed to discuss the future of Polish-American relations, as well as to show Poland as a significant player in the international arena in the fields of energy, research and development, geopolitics, the space industry, and national security

Ambassadors, representatives of the Polish Parliament and the Congress, members of international organizations, politicians, representatives of Polish and American universities, experts, representatives of the Polish community abroad, representatives of the business world, students, Polish and international media

Scope of works (or issues to be solved)

Vision Group was responsible for the public relations and public affairs strategy of the event, including the complex preparation for the conference: concept, venue, patronages, program and organization of workshops, expert debates and accompanying events, invitations for participants and speakers. In addition, Vision Group was responsible for consultations with experts, cooperation with partners, preparation of gift bags for guests and media coverage.

The conference was held in Washington, D.C., USA. Panels and meetings were organized at The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, Willard InterContinental Washigton and the Residence of the Polish Ambassador in Washington. The conference was co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland as part of a grant received in the “Public Diplomacy 2019” competition. The conference was co-organized by the Warsaw Enterprise Institute.

Effects

  • Organizing of a two-day conference, consisting of 4 strategic workshops, 5 discussion panels and 2 accompanying events on Polish-American cooperation in the field of economy, research and development, health care, national security, energy, space industry, and geopolitics
  • The event was attended by over 150 people, including ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic mission, the Congress, the Polish Parliament, the Polish and American public administration bodies, universities, research centers, international organizations, cultural centers, international media and Polish communities abroad
  • Establishing cooperation with the Chancellery of the Prime Minister – Tomasz Zdzikot, Vice Minister of National Defense read a letter from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki addressed to the conference participants
  • Obtaining of the honorary patronages of the following institutions: Ministry of Health, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, Ministry of Investment and Development, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, National Security Bureau
  • Establishing cooperation with the following institutional partners: Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington D.C., Polish Development Fund, Polish Investment and Trade Agency, National Centre for Supporting Agriculture, Medical Research Agency

  • Active participation in celebrating many important anniversaries: the 100th anniversary of Polish Independence, the centenary of diplomatic relations between Poland and many countries, especially with the US, and the fifteen years of Poland’s membership in the European Union
  • Organizing a series of expert meetings before the conference – members of steering committees of each conference path
  • Enhancing knowledge concerning Polish history by publishing posts within educational campaigns in social media
  • Creating the concept of “The Kulski Freedom Award” for promoting Polish history and tradition in the US and other countries. Two prominent Americans – Senator Marcy Kaptur and Congressman Chris Smith received this distinction
  • Highlighting the potential of social media as a tool for promoting initiatives on an international scale
  • Promotion of Polish culture within the “Poland Tastes Good” campaign – the tasting of traditional Polish food during an evening reception at the Residence of the Polish Ambassador in Washington DC
